CONTEST OVER Win tix NOW to Thursday’s ActionFest screening

The monthly ActionFest series rolls on this Thursday the 17th at the Carolina Cinemas with Ip Man: The Final Fight.

The screening starts at 7:30 p.m. and $10 admission not only gets you a pint of Asheville Brewing’s Ninja Porter, popcorn, and soda, but directly benefits the local homeless advocate service Homeward Bound.

Want to go?  Just be one of the first 5 people to post the name of a kung fu style (the more obscure, the better) in the comments and you’ll win a pair of tickets to Thursday’s show.

Please use your correct first and last name when you comment.  Tickets will be available for pick-up at The Carolina on Thursday night.

Press release:
ActionFest Film Festival is pleased to announce the seventh film of its monthly screening series.  IP MAN: THE FINAL FIGHT, the opening night film of the Hong Kong Film Festival, will screen one night only at The Carolina Asheville on Thursday, October 17 at 7:30 p.m.
In postwar Hong Kong, legendary Wing Chun grandmaster Ip Man (Anthony Wong) is reluctantly called into action. What began as simple challenges from rival kung fu styles soon turns deadly, drawing him into the dark and dangerous underworld of the Triads. Now, to defend life and honor, he has no choice but to fight one last time.
All proceeds from this screening will be donated to HOMEWARD BOUND, celebrating its 25th anniversary of providing pathways to housing for the homeless in Asheville. The suggested donation for admission is $10. Those in attendance will receive complimentary pints of beer donated by our friends at Asheville Brewing, PLUS complimentary soft drinks AND popcorn donated by Carolina Cinemas.
The ActionFest Film Series is a monthly film series occurring on the 3 rd Thursday of each month at The Carolina Asheville — home of the ActionFest Film Festival — offering action movie fanatics an early look at action films from all over the world, including world premieres and select major studio previews.  IP MAN: THE FINAL FIGHT is the seventh film featured in this new series.
We hope all Persons of Action will join us for this exciting action event at The Carolina Asheville.  Come out and support Homeward Bound while enjoying the best entertainment value in Asheville.  Tickets are available now at the Carolina Cinemas box office, 1640 Hendersonville Road, Asheville, NC, or online at IP MAN: THE FINAL FIGHT:

Sorry – NOT entirely accurate.

Edwin Arnaudin October 14, 2013 - 3:45 pm

Good to know, Craig. All the info I’m sent says free popcorn and a choice of soda or a Ninja Porter should accompany each ticket, whether purchased or won.

Craig Robinette October 14, 2013 - 3:34 pm

Hey, just wanted to let you know that the free popcorn, beer, and coke are entirely accurate. I won tickets a couple of months ago, and they didn’t seem to know anything about the free perks and had to ask management. You had a choice of getting a beer or coke or popcorn for free. I got one and had to pay for the other. Not a big deal, but just fyi.
