CONTEST OVER Win tickets NOW to Folk Soul Revival show Friday at the Grey Eagle

Share

We’ve got more tickets to a Grey Eagle show. If you don’t have plans for next Friday August 3 and want to win two tickets, just be the first to comment and tell us what the Folk Soul Revival’s fans call themselves.

This is a CD release show.

Folk Soul Revival is a harmony drenched, boot stomping, rowdy, rootsy Americana band from the Appalachian mountains. With strong songwriting, spot on vocals, earthy instrumentation, and an unreserved honesty, an FSR concert is consistently eventful. FSR have amassed a huge group of loyal and vocal fans.

Folk Soul Revival have shared the stage with such …high profile acts as Jason Isbell, Justin Townes Earle, John Cowan, Justin Moore, The Felice Brothers, Jesse McReynolds, Goose Creek Symphony, Mel McDaniel, Dr. Ralph Stanley, Jessica Lea Mayfield, The Black Lillies, Tim Easton, The New Familiars, Holy Ghost Tent Revival and Chris Janson….just to name a few.

FSR have, and continue to, participate in various larger festivals, including Floydfest, The Blue Plum Festival and the world famous Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion, where they were recently named the 2011 Band of the Year by the Virginia Tourism Corporation. The band has also been featured on the syndicated radio program Music City Roots, in Nashville, TN and on Sirius/XM’s “Outlaw Country” show.

Folk Soul Revival’s debut album “Good Enough” was released independently in April of 2009. Their highly anticipated, highly successful follow up studio album “Words Off A Tongue” was released in August of 2010 and is a big sounding, organic production. Produced by Nashville’s Chad Brown, the album includes session work from the Wallflower’s Fred Eltringham, famed, Grammy nominated, cellist Dave Eggar, and the soulful McCrary Sisters. It has been praised by critics and fans alike, and just recently was named on ‘No Depression’ magazine’s website as being in the Top 15 of 2010.

The band has experienced it’s fair share of heartache and loss, both personally and professionally, but have been resilient and have strived to continue creating the music that has become so endearing to many fans.

Folk Soul Revival consistently create a musical memory for the legions of fans that dance, clap, laugh and sing at the top of their lungs.

Bummed that I didn’t see this post until it was too late . . .

And I know that “just print the press release” is what you guys do most of the time, but in this case couldn’t you (or the Grey Eagle) find a more *recent* press release to print? That one was pretty clearly from 2010, and doesn’t mention the new Kickstarter-funded album that is being released, “Prompting the Dapperness,” at all.

Nate, I can’t say that I agree that “just print the press release” is what we do “most of the time.” But I’m sorry that the full story of FSR’s Kickstarter wasn’t in this post, but it wasn’t on the Grey Eagle site either, which is where I get the info I post with contests from that venue. Sorry for the oversight!
