Will Hilton be charged with Bryant murder?
The story of suspect Gary Hilton, the man charged with killing Meredith Emerson, who was found dead in a north Georgia forest, continues to unfold. Monday night, Sheraldo said Hilton was arrested last week in a van that bore a license plate stolen from a Rosman woman’s car.
Sheraldo said it’s just another clue that could link Hilton to the homicide of Irene Bryant, who was found dead last year in Pisgah National Forest. John Bryant, her husband, is still missing.
Sheraldo interviewed Transylvania County Sheriff David Mahoney, who said he’s putting together the evidence and maybe even charges. The Hendersonville Times-News on Monday afternoon was reporting that somebody in Mahoney’s office had confirmed that Hilton would be charged with Bryant’s murder, but that story was taken off the newspaper’s web site Monday evening.
Carolyn Ryan said Monday night that Transylvania County officials plan to travel to Georgia on Tuesday to interview Gary Hilton directly. Ryan also got an “exclusive” interview with the woman whose license tag was allegedly stolen by Hilton.
More to come.
