What’s her name?

The Blue Ridge Roller Girls want you to help them name their mascot. Here’s what they say:

She may look like a real bad ass, but secretly she’s suffering from quite an identity crisis! So, the Blue Ridge Rollergirls have set out to name their logo!

We received so many great entries in our initial naming contest, which was held at Asheville’s Brew and View in February that we would like to extend the contest, which was originally scheduled to end April 1st. If you have a great idea for a name, be prepared to come out and submit it at our upcoming derby events. Currently, we have a car wash fundraiser in the works for April at a local Sonic, as well as a recruitment event to be held at Eaties Cereal Bar in downtown, also in April, and a derby prom fundraiser in May. So, watch our page for updates on event dates and times and come out to support BRRG and to name our logo!!!

The winner not only gets naming rights but will also receive a free BRRG shirt as well as a free ticket to our inaugural bout in June, at which time our logo’s name will finally be announced!

Here are some sample names of roller girls: Chelle-O Shoot Her; MargaritaVillain; and Poison Sue Smac. Don’t forget Liquor Possi and Malicious Delight.

So, leave names here and we’ll pass them along. We like something simple like Crazy Jane or Dorothy Death. Maybe a play off the eye, like Sally Shiner O’Malley. The braids also make us think of something like Pippy-Pain Long-skatings.
