Tractor pull

Share

There’s nothing quite like a tractor pull. What you have on display here is quiet, steady strength. The opposite of a drag race, which showcases a burst of speed. No, the tractor pull highlights persistant power.

Note: There’s a sign between the flags that says, “The BS stops here.”

Ash, I would have gone if I’d known about it. Somehow I missed that it was happening this weekend. I’ve just been too damn busy with work. I’ve been to the pull in past years, though. A lone damn Yankee in a crowd of Southern rednecks. And a great time was had by all. Too bad the WLOSers didn’t cover the event.

I wouldn’t call myself a tractor expert. I can’t even drive one, but I grew up in rural Maine back when there were still a lot of family farms. It seemed that everybody had an old Farmall, Fordson or Johnny Popper, even if they just used ’em for clearing snow.

NewsJunkie, we had no idea you were such an expert on tractors. Hang on – we’ve got more… Did you go out there this weekend?

Great post! My interest is actually focused more toward the restored old tractors themselves, but it’s a great way to spend an afternoon (even if my wife thinks I’m crazy.)
