The big Toby Keith concert is tonight at the Asheville Civic Center. I briefly flirted with the idea of getting tickets and checking it out, but the tickets are something like $48.50 – each! Who can afford $50 a ticket for a show these days? Damn!

Ha you people are all pretty cheap or just poor. I just paid $300 to see phish at the CC, and I’m not a rich man. Toby Keith is shit tho I wouldn’t pay a dime to see him.
Seems like most of Asheville is going. Headed through I-240 a few minutes ago and both exits to the civic center were clogged. The highway heading toward Patton even had an accident to spice things up…
Arratik— Why would you want to go to a "Dick Cheese" Show? Ick.
Heard tickets for Toby Keith were so hot that nobody camped out in front of the civic center. Oooh! Toby Keith is so hot that he’s going to bulld a golf course nearby….mini golf. Ooooh! Toby Keith has so many tractor trailers in town because they are filled with homeless people from Greenville. Ooooh!!
Nope… If i wanted to bombard my ears with amped-up jingoism i’d just turn on Fox News. He lost any support I may have held for him after the post-9/11 song that said something about ‘putting a boot in your ass… it’s the American way.’
I saw him for free several years ago and questioned if it was worth the cost of admission. He was pretty full of himself and obnoxious then, and it was before the How Do You Like Me Now/boot in your ass era.
They have released some tickets up in the rafters for $20, but the fees etc. make it come out to around $30.
If somebody gave me free tickets I’d probably go, but I’m sure not spending $50 bucks to see him. Disagree with his politics but tend to like most of his music (at least the part that gets played on mainstream country radio).
After plunking down ~$450 to go to day three of Coachella out in CA, I don’t think I’ll be going to very many shows this year. Or next. (Although the upcoming Richard Cheese show @ the Orange Peel might be tempting…)
