For those who’ve never seen it, it’s a 2007 BBC mini about a modern-day descendant of Mr. Jekyll.
It’s written by Hugo-award winning writer Steven Moffat, who’s recently been discovered by Stephen Spielberg and Peter Jackson, and is writing screenplays for both.
James Nesbitt plays the lead, and he’s amazing. A mix of Tony Soprano, Macheath from the Threepenny Opera, Andy Kaufman’s Vic Ferrari character and Ben Kingsley’s character from Sexy Beast. And that’s just when he’s playing Mr. Hyde…
He looks so different as Jekyll/Hyde that I checked IMBD to see if two different men were playing the role. They’re not. He’s that good.
Two out of two Asheville bloggers agree, this show is freaking amazing.
