Suzanne, a former WLOSer, e-mailed us after we mentioned her awesome snow bunny reports during her WLOS days. Here it is:
Hello Ashvegas!
Just wanted to thank you for remembering those horrible mornings and nights I spent in the snow in the service of WLOS-TV. it’s good to know the frostbite wasn’t for naught. But I do ask that you give all the snow-bound reporters some credit … it’s hard to look fashionable when you spend an hour and a half by the side of the road reporting on 1/2 inch of snow!
Love your blog!
Suzanne, you’re right. We’ll cut the snow reporters some slack. Maybe. We’ll see.
But any WLOSer who wants to rightly assume the snow bunny mantle you so proudly held is going to have some serious work to do. For example: Ashvegas fondly recalls a Suzanne Hudson report from a DOT maintenance shed in Buncombe County. Suzanne starts her report about an impending snowstorm by sitting atop a giant pile of sand ready for mixing and spreading on the roads. She’s wearing skin-tight pants that look like horse-riding pants, with knee-high boots. She’s got on a furry hat and fur-trimmed jacket and gloves. She’s cute as a button!
As Suzanne tells us about the coming storm and all the hard work the DOT is about to do, she slowly slides down the sandy hill, leaving two perfect, parallel butt tracks in the sands.
That one’s gonna be hard to top.
