Chief weather-guesser Mike “Cuervo” Cuevas said Friday that is was going to snow up in Madison, Avery, Mitchell and Yancey counties, and that the rest of us might see some snow showers. At the end of the news on Friday, when they Tammy teased Mike that she was headed to the grocery for bread and milk, he added that he does not own stock in any grocery chain.

Cuevas did call this one…infact he ended up a bit on the low side compared to some totals across WNC…

Speaking of weekend AM newscasts, let’s hope that the "new" WLOS news director has enough "common sense" to either have a live news and weather program or drop the "night before" rerun crap they’ve been running for years. Give me a break News 13!!!!!!!
Grow up and get in the game. Remember, you are suppose to be a top 40 market!

Not to toot Cuervo’s horn, but Friday he was calling for a dusting below 3500 feet, not rain.

They blew it again! Cuervo, NOAA, and the Weather Channel all called for rain below 3500 feet. The "rain" was sticking in places when I left the DILO gathering, especially west of the Smoky Park Bridge. I have about an inch on the ground here this morning.

Enough snow to have a Sunday morning newscast.

With no live shots of actual snow, of course, so it was really last night’s news rehashed with current weather from Jay.

Uh, I say snow.
About an inch or so.
