Smith, Bothwell, newcomer Wisler line-up for Asheville City Council bids

Candidates for Asheville City Council continue to announce their bids. Councilmen Cecil Bothwell and Gordon Smith are seeking re-election, while newcomer Gwen Wisler, the former CEO of outdoor products giant Coleman Company, is also seeking election.

John Miall and Esther Manheimer have both announced that they’re running for mayor. Asheville Mayor Terry Bellamy has said she won’t seek re-election.

The mayor’s seat, as well as the seats held by Bothwell, Smith and Manheimer are up for re-election this year.
