The high-end steak house in Biltmore Village has already served patrons at a series of pre-opening events.
But Ruth’s Chris Steak House will be open to the public on Monday, Dec. 19. More, from a story about Ruth’s Chris that I wrote for the Asheville Citizen-Times:
Across town, the staff of Ruth’s Chris was soaking up last-minute instructions before about 200 diners were set to arrive for the second night of service. Gabe Fore, the restaurant’s beverage manager, said restaurant owners “want people to know this is a prime steak house, but it’s also an affordable place with a casual atmosphere.” It’s official opening is Monday.
An entree will cost $40 to $50 from the a la carte menu, with wines costing anywhere from $40 a bottle to $2,000, Fore said. The restaurant features only local beers on tap and offers a full liquor bar.
John W. Bell III is a partner in the new venture, Asheville Prime LLC, which also includes Jeff and Paula Conway, who own three other Ruth’s Chris restaurants – two in Charlotte and one in Savannah, Ga.
The restaurant employs 80 people, can seat more than 200 diners and represents about a $6 million investment, Jeff Conway said. Highlights of the Craftsman-style interior include 200-year-old reclaimed cyprus and 17,000 linear feet of African mahogany.
