All Go West, the West Asheville music festival, gave Scene a sneak preview of a few of the bands in its lineup for the April 27 event.
Electronica-pop-rock RBTS WIN, which made a splash during MoogFest a couple years back, and pan-jazz fusion act Jonathan Scales Fourchestra, are two bands that will play the street festival, in and around the Isis Restaurant and Music Hall at 743 Haywood Road. Some 20 bands will play outside the Isis and on the first-floor stage inside the venue, organizer Arieh Samson said. The music runs noon-to 10 p.m. outside, and until 2 a.m. inside Isis.
On Saturday, fest organizers announced that the winning band in its Facebook poll was a relatively new indie rock group, Comet West. Formed last year, the four-man act describes its music as high-energy, “with a melodic and groovy backbone.” Because the group got 437 votes in a poll of local bands like The Critters and The Krektones, Comet West wins a spot in the All Go West lineup.
