Photos: MG Road’s Craft Cocktail Experience last Friday

Smoked-trout sushi, ribs and Indian-inspired Yorkshire pudding? Sounds like Asheville to me. Almost as Asheville as a Homeland Security drug bust two doors down from a Food Network commercial.

Also on hand were inspired craft cocktails from top mixologists from Zambra, Storm, MG Road and the Junction. Look for the pic of the scorpion, served to lucky diner Eric Steiner atop a slice of fresh jalapeno as part of a delicious spicy cocktail called, fittingly, the Scorpion Venom.

Remove the scorpion and muddle the pepper into the drink for a delicious treat.

Food by Chai Pani and Zambra sous chef Josh Dillard. Cocktails by Jason Crosby of The Junction (the “Scorpion Venom,” a jalapeno mezcal cocktail), Joshua Bailey of Zambra (the “Winter Moon,” an autumnal mix of bourbon, apple jelly and fresh pear), Kyle Beach of MG Road (“The Incidental,” a sophisticated mix of gin, coriander and orange) , and Doug Stevens of Storm (the “Salted Caramel,” a well-named creamy vanilla dessert drink with a salted caramel rim).

Be jealous.
