Press release here. Check these guys out – they’re the real deal:

Join Paul’s Creek plus legendary fiddler Arvil Freeman @ the Altamont Theatre This Saturday at 8 p.m. for an upbeat concert of traditional & original mountain songs, stories & award winning dance.

Carol Rifkin’s voice shines on everything from Carter family songs to originals. A touring artist who played or danced with many of her musical heroes (fiddler Tommy Jarrell, Doc & Merle Watson, Taj Mahal) she’s a journalist (take5 AC-T & more) with a recognizable laughing voice who hosts “This Old Porch” on WNCW 88.7 F, and an award winning musician (guitar, fiddle, vocals), singer & legendary dancer.

Legendary fiddler Arvil Freeman joins us when we are lucky & he is not fiddling’ with the Stoney Creek Boys. At age 14 he went across America fiddling with Bascom Lamar Lunsford, is on many recordings, won fiddle at Union Grove, MDFF & many contests, reigns on fiddle at Shindig on the Green on summer Saturday nights & is most proud of his award winning students.

Jamie Soesbee grew up watching his dad & uncle play bass & became a touring pro himself, he’s related to legendary singer Jimmy Rogers (he stayed at Jamie’s grandmother’s home while in Asheville) lending fine harmony & lead vocals to the mix.

Tom Pittman recently came to Paul’s Creek as a Banjo & dobro player. He left Asheville more than 30 years ago & played with the Austin Lounge Lizards, recently the lure of his Southern roots brought him back to play with & live near Paul’s Creek.
