F. Scott Fitzgerald was one party animal. Press release here:
F. Scott Fitzgerald was the image-maker of the Jazz Age, setting the tone, fashion and style of this American era. In 1935 and 1936, Fitzgerald came to The Grove Park Inn for rest and relaxation while his wife, Zelda, was treated in a nearby hospital. Each year, The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa salutes Fitzgerald, his accomplishments and his association with The Grove Park Inn near the anniversary of his birth in September. Local residents are also invited to join in the fun with an array of events from Friday September 25 through Sunday September 27.
Special activities include tours of Fitzgerald’s rooms with literature expert Dr. Brian Railsback, a Great Gatsby Speakeasy Party in Elaine’s Dueling Piano Bar, a cooking demonstration, and live music throughout the weekend. Guests can also learn to dance the Charleston, Gatsby-style, with flappers in the Great Hall.
On this special tribute weekend, we invite you to step back in time with us, as we experience the music, history and literature of a great American writer – and one of our favorite guests – F. Scott Fitzgerald.
