I do know Leslie and she is a class act, very committed to numerous causes, a leader and an inspiration! I was on the "front end" of all this when her son was first diagnosed and then refused treatment, by the so-called "best healthcare in the world." You go, Girl! Keep up the good fight!

Yeah, Tim. BTW, not that it’s remotely any of your business, but she wasn’t fired from the Citizen-Times, nor was she forced to resign. Get your facts straight before you start posting your vitriol.

Please ignore the mean-spirited comment by Tim Peck. His heart & soul were ripped out when he became a puppet for Erika Franzi a.k.a. the Asheville Tea Party. Tim’s desire receive praise from Erika overrode his last shred of decency.

No matter what your politics, one has to give Leslie some credit. She stood up for what she believes–despite the cost. Leslie is channeling her grief into something positive. It’s also my understanding that she wasn’t fired. She resigned to become an activist for heath care reform.

For the record– I don’t know Leslie, but I’d be proud if she were my mom.

Who knows–one day Tim Peck might be able to get some medical care because of her efforts.
