WLOSers didn’t have a whole lot new this evening, so we’ll run through it quickly:
Somebody fell off a waterfall in Yancey County. The guy fell 30 feet, according WLOSers, who said they had a crew on the scene and would have more info at 11… Speaking of new info, there was none from Carolyn “Little Red” Ryan, who spent the day in McDowell County so she could run ABC news tape of the former soldier charged with killing four members of an Iraqi family, including a young woman he allegedly raped. He was arrested in McDowell County’s Nebo community on Friday… “What they’ve done is stole July Fourth for the town of Old Fort,” an Old Fort cop told WLOSers in a report about how someone broke into a storage facility and took about half the town’s fireworks display. The July Fourth show has been cancelled… Two brothers were injured when their jet ski hit a boat on Lake Chatuge in Clay County. New WLOSer Terrie filed the report, which was short on real detail. It was all about what great guys the two brothers were… Jon “Punnyman” Le filed filler reports from Pack Square in downtown Ashvegas, where people were gathering for the fireworks show. Speaking of shows, Gatlinburg had the nation’s first July Fourth celebration, kicking off a parade at the stroke of midnight. It’s the 31st year they’ve done so.
