News obit: David Rogers, developer who brought Asheville’s Grove Arcade back to life

David Rogers, a Huntersville-based developer who played a significant role in the redevelopment of downtown Rock Hill, is dead at 65.

Rogers had restored the Grove Arcade in Asheville before buying distressed buildings along East Main Street in Rock Hill. The Asheville project, which converted the 1929 building into an office and retail project, won Rogers a 2003 AIA North Carolina award.
