Funeral for dead baby
The funeral was held Saturday in Transylvania County for the 3-month-old baby who was apparently the victim of Shaken Baby Syndrome. Deandre Curry, 18, has been charged with second-degree murder in the case.

Kassandra “Special K” Pride, who can’t speak a word without her notebook, brought us privacy invading video tape of family and friends at the funeral of little Andrea Hunter. She even showed people closing the lid on the tiny white coffin after mourners had passed. Don’t you people have any respect?

The best Special K could do was talk to a “neighbor of the cemetery” who said the situation was sad and that the mother should face some charges, too. The neighbor said the child had marijuana and anti-depressants in her system. How does she know?

Special K is, hands down, the worst reporter currently working as a WLOSer.

Beauty queen controversy
Does anybody really care about The Donald giving Miss USA Tara Conner a second chance? Or what Rosie thinks of Donald giving Tara a second chance? Or that Donald says no second chance for Katie Rees, Miss Nevada, who lost her crown after sexy pix of her showed up on the internets? We didn’t think so.

NEWS FROM FRIDAY
DSS releases file on baby death
Carolyn “Little Red” Ryan said that the Tranylvania County DSS released a preliminary file on contacts it had with the family of the dead three-month-old that police say died of Shaken Baby Syndrome. The mother’s 18-year-old boyfriend has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in the case.

The report said DSS first got a call Nov. 20. The report said the mother had anger-management problems, and that could put the baby in danger. But DSS didn’t take any action.

Figuring out 287-G
Russ “Beefcaked Bowen did a poor job of explaining a new tactic that the new police chief in Hendersonc County wants to take in cracking down on illegal immigrants. Russ called it 287-G, but he didn’t say if it was a local law that had to be adopted, or a federal law or what.

Basically, it sounded like police could invoke the new rule to question somebody already under arrest about their legal status in the country.

Russ talked to a couple of people who said they were afraid that police might use it to do more racial profiling. Russ also talked to a mechanic, a Hispanic man legally living and working in the U.S., who said he though cracking down on illegals was fine. Russ never said if using this rule would mean these people get deported or what.

Russ said that Henderson County police said on any given day, 50 of 200 inmates in the local jail are Hispanic.
