New Asheville coffee spot, Edna’s at The River, how open!

Share

Hello Asheville!

Edna’s at the River is now open! Here are some in-progress pics, and finished-product pics, as well as parts of a FaceBook Message conversation that I had with Edna’s owner, Tom Cash, who first contacted me to offer jobs to the Waking Life staff back in the middle of September, and then kept me posted on Edna’s progress, right up until opening day, which was Thursday, October 29th, 2015! Go see Tom  grab a cup of joe, and some food from the food trucks, and be sure to bring your dog! It’s a very dog-friendly feel over there at Carrier Park.

Sept. 20th – 2015

TOM CASH – Stu, it’s Tom from Ednas. We have opening to take (two) of the employees from waking life

STU – You rule. I’ll pass the info on, Tom! Any word on opening day at the River?

TOM- We are getting very close. Moving equipment in to space this week.

STU – Great! Please keep me posted! I’m super curious about your location. I looked on the map, and it seems like you’re in the north east corner of carrier park. Is that right? Are you building a new structure?

TOM – No it’s an existing structure that they have redeveloped. Here is what building used to look like. I guess it used to be an old bar back in the day

TOM – What it’s now looking like. Inside you will have to wait for grand opening.

STU – Dude. This looks AWESOME!

Sept. 30th, 2015

TOM – Stu, here are some more new pics of location including our little stream….

STU – These are great! Who is the artist painting the murals, Tom?

TOM – Reah Ormond

STU – Does the Edna’s on the River have the same Pug-dog theme as the one on Merrimon?

TOM – Yes but different as the theme is camping, hiking and tubing. It’s a river theme and has a much different feel. I think you will enjoy it. Lots of wood too. And more retail

Oct. 29th, 2015

TOM – The moment you all have been waiting for! The opening of Edna’s at the River is at hand! Stop by when we open our doors today at 1:30pm at
219 Amboy Road across from Carrier Park. Open until 7pm this evening.

Be one of the first Edna’s at the River customers!
