Mumpower to take Bizarro protest to Leicester next

Former Asheville City Council member Carl Mumpower is taking his war against Bizarro on the road to Leicester this weekend. A couple of weeks ago, Mumpower led a protest outside the Up ‘N Smoke store at the Innsbruck Mall. From Mumpower’s email:

Bizarro is not tolerated in Madison or Henderson County. Why is it OK in Buncombe County? While our officials deliberate, agitate, investigate, and commiserate – places like Up ‘N Smoke are benefiting from a stream of young, misguided, and foolish Bizarro users taking the bait. Many of these are, in turn, breaking down in one form or another and falling into our social service, medical, and judicial systems.

Leicester is not willing to be passive with common Bizarro impacts – damaged teens, predatory homelessness, mental health problems, breaking and entering, and violence. This community is planning a protest this coming Saturday, April 13, from 12:00 to 1:00 in the parking lot next to Up ‘N Smoke’s 34 New Leicester Road location.

For more information, please go to our web site at We appreciate your help in turning the lights on Bizarro. It’s bad stuff, sold by bad people, doing bad things to more people.

Thanks, Mr. Nesbitt. Will you show us how easy it is to buy cans of duster for huffing? Or show us how many 5-hour energy shots you can buy at a time?
That video was absurd, they called salvia ‘saliva’ and perfectly legal, artfully blown, tobacco pipes ‘crack pipes’.

Here is how easy it is to buy Bizzaro in Asheville.

I did some reading on this garbage. Pretty nasty stuff. I’m surprised it isn’t on a Federal ban.

Seems to me it might be more productive to make the drug illegal than to protest legal places selling a legal product to consenting adults.

Now that’s the Mumpower I like.

Is the stuff illegal in North Carolina … if it is legal then how are the mentioned counties “not tolerating” it … I didn’t realize a County could just decide to ban a legal substance.

Murphy April 8, 2013 - 4:44 pm

Nice of that website to include a list of stores that are selling it!

It’s nice to see Mumpower doing something constructive with his time.

Those good ‘ole boys need all the help they can get.

This is why drugs should be legalized, then kids wont be forced into buying crap
