Closing: The Asheville Public restaurant

Share

Boca’s been sold, and there’s another closing of a popular eatery: The Asheville Public (TAP) in the RAD.

From Asheville Scene:

(Co-owner Jenny) Henegan said she and her husband have the restaurant up for sale through business broker Jeff Eatherly. The Henegans plan to keep their lease on the property, which features a 50-space parking lot and a large adjacent yard that had been home to a weekend flea market.

Henegan, who also sold used furniture in the restaurant, added that she plans to have a sale on Jan. 15 and 16. The estate sale will be cash-and-carry, she said.

The estate sale will very likely be worth checking out, given the venue’s attractive, funky shabby-chic decor.

TAP will close on Sunday, January 13.

From TAP on Facebook:

TAP will be closing our doors next week. We would love for all of our loyal patrons to join us one last time. We will be having some amazing drink specials…Starting out tonight with $3 Draft Beers and $1 off all top shelf liquor drinks!

It’s been lovely, Asheville.

Every meal I had at TAP was tasty, and I had a lovely breakfast there just a few weeks ago. Sorry to see you go, Asheville Public.

Thanks for the memories.

As a small business owner myself, I’m certainly sorry to hear of a local establishment closing. My family only ate at the Asheville Public a couple of times, now I wish we had done so more often. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the food very good in our experiences.
Best wishes in future endeavors!

I thought the food was mediocre at best, and had to send it back on two occasions. While I hate to see anyone fail, I’m not surprised at this one. And with such an excellent location!
