Merrimon Avenue’s DOUGH official Grand Opening is February 12

Share

Looks like DOUGH will open in early February, with an official Grand Opening event Tuesday, February 12 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with demos, samples, giveaways, specials and live music.

Merrimon Avenue’s “grocery row” holds not only a coming-soon Harris Teeter and Trader Joe’s, but a chef-driven deli, market, bakery and cooking demo space called DOUGH.

The brainchild of chef Brian Ross, formerly of the Biltmore Estate and a former culinary educator at l’Academie de Cuisine in Gaithersburg, MD., DOUGH lets Ross combine both talents–chef and teacher–at a new venture that’s finally ready to open after ongoing construction since last fall.

Built from the ground up on the former Compliments to the Chef location, DOUGH is bright, roomy, modern new construction with stainless steel appliances, a cooking-class space complete with gas ovens, counter space, and a deli-market area.

Ross promises deli eats (hummus, salads, house-made cheeses), house-baked breads, and a hand-picked selection of olive oils, wine and other market goods personally selected by the former Biltmore chef.

There will also be eat-in seating.

DOUGH officially opens Tuesday February 12, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Its official ribbon-cutting is at 4 p.m.

Love their signage, just wish it was bigger. It seems dwarfed by the others on Merrimon…nice to see a unique food concept in Asheville….kinda getting bored with tapas.
