Merrimon Avenue parcel sold as changes continue along section of north Asheville corridor

Changes are continuing along a section of Merrimon Avenue that has seen other recent development.

The property at 348 Merrimon Ave. recently sold for $350,000. It is near the new Moe’s restaurant, which looks like it is about to open. The buyer is the same developer as the Moe’s property.

Also nearby is this building (above) which is undergoing a major renovation. Word on the street is that it is going to be transformed into a high-end art gallery.

In this same section of Merrimon, the market Dough opend at 372 Merrimon; Frazier’s Tavern took over for another bar at 389 Merrimon and Bar of Soap, the laundromat/book shop/restaurant, opened at 333 Merrimon. All this over the past three two or three years.

And of course we are all familiar with the big changes along Merrimon just a bit closer to town: A new Trader Joe’s opened next door to a new Harris Teeter last year, with a new Chick-fil-A opening next door to the HT just a couple weeks back. And there’s more development coming to that Teeter complex.

Same owners own four contiguous properties, so what Sean says makes sense.

It’s going to be a combo pizza hut/taco bell. Confirmed.

I’m hearing that the 348 Merrimon location is going to be an apartment/retail complex. Apparently the property is deeper than it appears from Merrimon.
