Mermaid Parade in Marshall happening Saturday

Share

A cool event. From Facebook:

Come celebrate the 4th annual Mermaids in Marshall where pirates, mermaids, and other sea creatures are encouraged to attend! As part of the Downtown Marshall Association’s regular French Broad Friday series that happen on the second Friday of the month, galleries and restaurants in downtown Marshall will stay open late night on June 10 until 11PM. The mermaid parade begins at 6PM, and exciting live music with the Jonathan Scales Fourchestra will happen directly after in front of the Madison County Courthouse.

Festivities begin on Blannahasset Island with face painting, games, pictures and celebrating the seafaring way with reggae music. The Mermaid, Pirates, and Sea Creatures Parade starts at 6PM at Marshall High Studios, continues over the bridge to the “mainland” past the courthouse, down to Lapland Bookshop & Arts, and then to the Flow Gallery with a mermaid-themed costume contest to follow. Bubbles will be provided to parade participants (while supplies last) to throw and blow! Please come and be part of the parade!
