Katie Mills, North Carolina’s Watermelon Queen, visited the WNC Farmer’s Market Friday. It’s watermelon season, you see, and the farmers are trying to move ’em. WLOSers brought us a little video of Katie, signing autographs and such. Katie has been keeping quite a schedule.
The story also sparked a little debate between Larry “Gloryhole” Blunt and Tallahassee Tammy about who’s a thumper and who’s a roller. Their story quoted a farmer saying that you shouldn’t thump a melon to determine whether it’s ripe. Instead, one should roll a melon, check to see if it’s a little heavy for it’s size, and make sure that spot on its bottom is a nice creamy color.
We don’t know, but we still think Katie’s a thumper.

Thump. Sometimes used to refer to intercourse.
Rollin’. As in "rock and roll", came from the hip folks back in the day when they referred to intercourse. Also, a "roll in the hey".
"Melons’ is in the category with,’boobs’,’cha chas’, and ‘brown nose puppies’, all references to women’s breasts.
This site should be XXX rated.
EM. How about that Tiara?
Well I was going to make a Melon pun but she doesn’t seem to "gifted" in that area.
With a name like Blunt.. you know he’s gotta be a roller.
EM- Does that count for the contest?
Kaboom! rumble, rumble, rumble.. I spit my seed at you.. Queens.

She strikes me as a roller: A rolling mellon gathers no WLOS. Besides, I think thumping can get you arrested these days.
I’m just waiting to see which of your commenters is going to be the first to make a melon pun…
