Loyal reader Ralph sent along this missive today:
Hi. My name is Ralph Goodnight and a couple friends and I just started a new business in Asheville. It is a food truck called Lucky Fish Taco. We have delicious fusion tacos and we will have a fish of the day taco and once a week have a country plate. We are going to be at the double crown bar on Haywood road in west Asheville on the weekends, the food truck lot and several other locations throughout the week.
Very cool. Ralph, a server at a chain restaurant in town, said he and his partner, an entrepreneur from Charlotte, are making big plans. The food trucks will offer fish, chicken and carne asada tacos, and there will be vegetarian options. They plan to set up shop on Haywood Road, with an eye toward eventually operating four or five Lucky Fish Taco trucks in the Asheville area. A website and Facebook presence is coming soon.
I’ll have more details to come, including a menu. Stay tuned.
In the meantime, there seems to be a resurgence of food truck action in town. The Asheville Citizen-Times and the Mountain Xpress have recently reported these other food truck developments:
–Roaming in the Raw serves up smoothies and salads outside Avenue M on Merrimon Avenue.
-The owners of the former Little Bee Tai plan to launch their food truck soon outside the French Broad Food Coop in downtown.
–Hi-Wire Brewing recently received its permit to host food trucks at its location on the South Slope.
