Laurey’s restaurant in downtown Asheville closed for renovations, ‘restructuring’

Share

Laurey’s Catering and Comfort Cafe will be closed all month, according to a statement posted on the restaurant’s page on Facebook:

The café will remain closed for March as we renovate the facility and restructure our operation.

I’ve reached out for more detail regarding the restructuring.

It was February of 2014 when owner Laurey Masterton died after a long battle with cancer. Masterton was a pioneer small business owner in downtown Asheville and was known for her “Don’t Postpone Joy” tagline, as well as her delicious food.

Here’s the full statement on Laurey’s FB page:

Hi Friends, thanks for being patient during this past week as our doors were closed for some much needed discussions and renovations. Exciting things are happening at Laurey’s but that comes with some more time away. The café will remain closed for March as we renovate the facility and restructure our operation. We won’t be available for any more March catering jobs. Please feel free to contact us about events starting in April and beyond. For catering inquiries please email us at: contact@laureysyum.com
We appreciate your love and support. Stay tuned for exciting things to come! ‪#‎asheville‬ ‪#‎wnc‬ ‪#‎northcarolina‬ ‪#‎avleat‬ ‪#‎avleats‬ ‪#‎dontpostponejoy‬ ‪#‎yum‬
