Backed by five years of dedicated support from the Asheville community and paired with the unparalleled comedic talent showcased, The Laugh Your Asheville Off Comedy Festival has become one of the premier comedy events in the country. Attending this year’s events is major TV network casting agents & talent bookers, some of the top industry representatives and a core group of comedy club owners with hopes of discovering stand-up comedy’s next crop of rising talent. Previous Laugh Your Asheville Off Comedy Festival performers have gone on to appear on The Late Show with David Letterman, Conan, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and a few were chosen to have their own half-hour Comedy Central specials.

The five-day, multi-venue Festival begins Tuesday August 14, 2012, with the “Local Laughs for Brother Wolf” charity show at The Magnetic Field.  All door proceeds from the show will be donated to Brother Wolf Animal Rescue.  As a pre sale special the festival producers will also donate two pounds of pet food for every pre-sold ticket to all the events currently on sale through the month of June.

On Wednesday August 15th the festival moves to the Highland Brewing Company for the widely popular Laugh Your Asheville Off Launch Party. Following the Launch Party the festivities continue for a late night showcase at the LAB (Lexington Avenue Brewery).   The Festival then travels to the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium, in the heart of downtown Asheville, on Thursday, August 16th, for a blockbuster performance by stand-up megastar Jim Gaffigan, followed by a festival comedic showcase at the “Pulp” located in the Orange Peel.

The Diana Wortham Theatre then plays host to the “LYAO Famous Showcases” on Friday and Saturday nights. In addition, The Altamont Theater will present the “LYAO Live at the Altamont” showcase late Friday night, after the Diana Wortham show.

Ticket packages and community discounts will be available in early July.  A complete bundle package for access to every showcase will be available with a 30% discount.  Ticket specials and announcement will be made on the festival website at www.laughyourashevilleoff.com.
