Localizing a story any way we can
WLOSers stretched quite a bit to come up with a way to get in on the big story a day or two ago about the small plane that crashed into a Manhattan building. A major league baseball pitcher died in the crash, which initially freaked a bunch of people, who thought it was Sept. 11 all over again.
So here’s the story that Terrie Foster came up with: The plane that crashed in Manhattan was similar to a plane that crashed a year ago out in Jackson County. How lame is that?
Terrie stressed over and over that federal investigators had only just begun their investigation into the NYC plane crash, so it was hard to say what led to the crash. But, she said, there were similarities to the Jackson County situation. Those similarities – a plane crashed.
A friend of the couple that died in the mountains said the weather was cloudy and the plane exhibited similar problems to the plane in NYC. But another pilot that Terrie talked to said the weather was most likely the cause of the crash.
Whatevah.
