Here’s the press release:

Good afternoon,
Oxford, Mississippi native Jimbo Mathus has just released his new album, Dark Night of the Soul, on Fat Possum on February 15, and he’s having a release party in ASHEVILLE, NC!
As one who’s covered nearly every American music genre — Delta blues, gypsy jazz, 1930s-era swing, klezmer while co-helming Squirrel Nut Zippers in North Carolina the ‘90s; Mississippi Hill Country blues grooves with the North Mississippi Allstars; jug band blues with cohorts Luther Dickinson and Alvin “Youngblood” Hart in the South Memphis String Band— the new album is a road back home. The emphasis is focused squarely on Jimbo’s songwriting. Some of the songs reflect his soul and blues upbringing while others are the brand of neo-Southern rock for which he and his band, the Tri-State Coalition, have become renowned.
JIMBO will be in ASHEVILLE, NC on THURSDAY, APRIL 24th at MOTHLIGHT.
I’ve got the download for the new CD “Dark Night of the Soul,” more art and bio – hit me up and I’ll send – review tickets and Jimbo is at home in Mississippi, eager to do interviews and ready to get his show on the road…

COME JOIN US to CELEBRATE the “DARK NIGHT of the SOUL!”
