If you think that Ron Paul is for the separation of church and state, consider that he wrote the following: "The notion of a rigid separation between church and state has no basis in either the text of the Constitution or the writings of our Founding Fathers."

I list a link below so that you can read the longer essay from which the above statement was taken: http://www.lewrockwell.com/paul/paul148.html

It’s true that APD busted a person or persons for holding up a political sign on a highway overpass not too long ago. The APD said that they arrested the guy because when drivers slow down to read the political signs, an accident could result.

Since then, I’ve seen several individuals holding up Ron Paul signs at overpasses. What’s up with this? Why are the Ron Paul signs allowed, when the other sign was not?

I think it smacks of hypocrisy.

How is his vote for the display of the ten commandments in govt buildings an example of his ‘strong views’ on seperation of church and state?

Also, who do you think steps in to provide services when the govt dips out to lowers taxes? Corporations. I really don’t like the idea of Pepsi or McDonalds sponsoring our kids schools. Also, there is nothing like a complete hault of the advancement of our national transportation systems. Guess the FAA should be run by the states…

What this country needs is a new ‘New Deal’ and Ron Paul is the anti.

Successful isolationist polices? When exactly was that, and how did they succeed? Did they prevent WWI or II?

They did not work then, and were not really existant, witness what the US did in the Philipines, China, Haiti and several other Carribean/Central American countries at that time, and they certainly will not work now.

Bssssxzzzzzzt. Thanks for playing. Next.

He’s only against partial-birth and government funding of abortion..but mainly because he’s against almost ALL government funding.

Other than that, he is the most hardcore, constitutional scholar around. He wants Church and state seperated, leaves all his religious beliefs at home, wants no military involvement in foreign affairs, and basically a return to the succesful Isolationist policies at the turn of the 20th century.

He doesn’t want to cut all these social services. He wants the STATES to control them, not the federal government, becuase that’s what was outlined in the consitution.

Did the cops bust them for highway blogging? Or is that just reserved for folks holding IMPEACH signs?

"Voting for Ron Paul means you really don’t understand the importance keeping large corporations out of government."

Help me understand how Ron Paul advocates letting large corporations in government.

judgeyall October 21, 2007 - 4:35 pm

Here is his voting record:

I personally can not support someone who has this record on healthcare, education, environmental issues, labor rights, stem cell research, gay rights, etc.

Voting for Ron Paul means you really don’t understand the importance keeping large corporations out of government.

Ron Paul is not about "killing all social services", rather, he intends to give the states the power to create social service programs as they see fit. The federal government has no constitutional authority to create social service programs, and the reality is that the average American would be a lot wealthier if programs such as these were cut out of our national budget. It has been proven time and again that Big Government is very ineffective at "taking care of the poor". All of the beaurocracy and misspending shorts everyone, the people receiving the benefits and the people paying for them. Smaller government and private organizations have a much better track record at getting things done for the less fortunate. So, really, it’s a no-brainer: Get the federal government’s nose out of where it doesn’t belong, allow the private sector and the state governments to take over the job, eliminate a lot of taxes, do away with a lot of misappropriation of funds, and have a much more prosperous nation.

Greetings Bill!

One of the big attractions to me from Americans across the political spectrum, is that I truly favor limited government, as opposed to unlimited government. People are FED up with the unrestrained government which status quo politicians have been building and empowering for a very long time.

People are also getting tired of politicians who say one thing and do another, serving their own interests and those of their special interest groups. My voting record shows that I am principled, and many Americans welcome the thought of having a President with integrity and good character for a change.

I am an enemy of the Neo-Cons & Neo-Coms, both of which have been destroying the very foundations of our freedoms, upon which our country was based.

There is a growing number of Americans who are waking up to the realization that we simply cannot continue on this present course of destruction. They are hearing my message of LIBERTY and are hungry for it.

Perhaps you might also find the message of liberty appealing. If you would like to hear more about my positions, go to http://www.RonPaul2008.com where you can find a lot of information, or simply watch various videos on Google & YouTube.

I thought it was about time Google chose Ron Paul as a running mate.

Tim Peck October 21, 2007 - 4:32 am

"Yeah, lets kill all social services."

Yeah, please elaborate. I’d like to know more, based on your research.

Ron Paul October 21, 2007 - 2:55 am

Please forgive me, judgeyall, for offending you by advocating that the Federal Government dispense with acting outside of its Constitutional limitations along with poking into the private affairs of American citizens.

If you would rather our nation continue on the path of tyranny, via authoritarianism, socialism, and fascism, then that is your prerogative. However, the bulk of my grassroots support seems to have educated themselves far more than the average and typical American voter… apparently, such as yourself.

But we still have hope for ya!

I just saved a bunch of money by switching to Ron Paul for president! Thank these folks for helping to inspire REAL change, not faux change with empty records and promises.

Bill October 21, 2007 - 12:49 am

What is the big attraction to this guy? And from some people who are otherwise progressive?

Can anyone help me here?

judgeyall October 20, 2007 - 3:23 pm

Yeah, lets kill all social services. I’m so sick of this Ron Paul crap. These people need to do some more research. Grrrrrr.
