Harrah’s Cherokee Hotel and Casino a high-tech pleasure palace: Exclusive Ashvegas photos

Share

From a recent dine-around event for local media, some exclusive photos of Harrah’s Cherokee, the hotel and casino complex just outside of Asheville currently in the middle of a mind-blowing $633 million $650 million expansion. To give you an idea of the money potentially involved in a casino complex like this one, the Harrah’s casino group measures its annual payouts in BILLIONS, not millions. This will be music to the ears of many a casino lover, such as myself. As many of you might have seen, this website is currently my online casino of choice.

The tour included not just the casino, but the complex’s sophisticated in-house restaurant scene–Paula Deen’s Kitchen, BRIO Tuscan Grill, Chef’s Stage Buffet and Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse–as well as the humbler charms of food-court eats from Dunkin Donuts, Uno’s Pizza and Johnny Rockets.

A highlight of the complex is its Grand Rotunda (just opened on June 29), with its tree-shaped 75-foot columns and 68-foot interior waterfall falling from the ceiling. Also on hand are 140-foot video screens (with dozens of speakers) showing casino messages and flashy, CGI-animated custom interpretations of Cherokee legends, synchronized with colored lighting effects. It’s high-tech as hell.

Mix the Asheville Mall with the Grove Park Inn and the Cylon mothership, add a hint of cigarette smoke, native Cherokee culture and wall-to-wall slot machines, and you’ve got Harrah’s.

And Harrah’s is hiring: Stay tuned for information about two job fair events this month in Cherokee, with over 600 new postions waiting to be filled, from bartenders to cashiers to marketing managers and game technicians.

Hello I am out of town at this time returning to the Qualla Boundary by the weekend as I live locally and interested in the Marketing Mangers position(s)that may be available. If you do not mind emailing information that you have on the position I would greatly be appreciative of your time.
