‘Gotham’ star Chris Chalk weds in Asheville

Chris Chalk, an Asheville High School graduate who has made a name for himself as a Broadway, movie and television actor, married his sweetheart, Kimberley Mitchell, on April 22 at the N.C. Arboretum.

US Weekly has the full details, and photos, of the star-studded nuptials. Chalk is currently a star on the Fox hit Gotham. His best man, Alano Miller, is a star of the WGN America series Underground. DeWanda Wise, the maid of honor, is a star of the Netflix series She’s Gotta Have It, an update of Spike Lee’s famous 1980’s indie film. From US Weekly:

The groom looked dapper in a white suit Indochino jacket, a white button-down shirt, a white bow tie and black pants, while his bride stunned in a lace Pronovias Atelier gown from Designer Loft Bridal and wore Jennifer Behr circlets in her hair.

The wedding party headed over the the Grand Bohemian Hotel for the reception, US Weekly reports.

Chalk, who graduated Asheville High School in 1996, moved to New York City to pursue his acting career. He worked in television, including Law and Order SUV and Newsroom. On Broadway, Chalk was noticed for his turn as Cory Maxson in the revival of Fences by August Wilson. Chalk was also noticed for his work in 12 Years A Slave, which won the Academy Award for Best Motion Picture of the Year in 2014.
