Own a local business? The Go Local card is a win-win: Card sales benefit local schools, and offering discounts get you the support of Asheville and the Asheville Grown community, plus you get a free mention in the 2013 Go Local Guide, printed up by Mountain Xpress.
Friday, Oct. 26 is the last day to sign up to be a 2013 Go Local business, so don’t put off signing up.

In a nutshell, you must be authentically local, and offer a discount to people who use the card. Honestly, that’s pretty much it
The criteria for all businesses that participate in the program are:
* Independent and at least 50% owned in Buncombe County, North Carolina with no headquarters outside of our region.* Free to make their own business decisions without the need for approval by owners or affiliates outside of the area. Regionally located and have a limited number of outlets.* Not registered as a franchise or publicly owned corporation.
