This looks like a fun event. Check it out:

Back for its second year, this February the Orvis Company will host the Down the Hatch event in Asheville, NC.

Down the Hatch is open to the public on February 23rd, with many entertaining activities offered both for participants and spectators. From 4:00 to 7:00PM Orvis teams up with the Asheville Brewers Alliance to hold a joint Fly-Fishing and Beer Festival at The Renaissance Hotel in Downtown Asheville. Enjoy local craft beers, cheer on the Orvis Guide Olympics Finalists, listen to live bluegrass music, and check out the latest gear from Orvis and other industry friends. After the party, join the migration over to the Asheville Community Theatre for the exclusive Orvis Film Festival, with lots of fun and action-packed fly-fishing films.

The films start at 7:30PM and there will be a huge raffle with many exciting prizes from Orvis and our Down the

Hatch supporters. Tickets for the film festival are $10 and can be purchased online or at the Asheville Community Theatre box office. Your ticket will get you two free drinks (21+) and entry to the raffle. There is a 350 person capacity for the films, so don’t delay!

All proceeds from the event will be donated to a river cleanup planned for the Watauga River in October of 2016. At last year’s event, Orvis raised over $3,600 that supported a similar cleanup of the South Holston River.
