Expansion of Asheville’s Green Man Brewing on tap for P&Z Commission

Share

The Planning and Zoning Commission plans to discuss Green Man Brewing expansion plans at its5 p.m. meeting on Aug. 7 in the first-floor meeting room at City Hall. From the P&Z agenda:

-Green Man Brewing at 27 Buxton Avenue requests variances. The applicant FBG Panther LLC is seeking several variances from UDO standards found in the Central Business District zone… height standards, fenestration requirements (windows, doors and other openings; amount of solid wall); and building frontage along a key pedestrian street for the construction of a new micro brewery facility.

Earlier this year, Tony Kiss, the Asheville Citizen-Times Beer Guy, reported on Green Man’s plans to add a new 30-barrel system and adding a bottling line. Check out the video here. Green Man is located on Buxton Avenue on Asheville’s booming South Slope.

Hilarious write-up from the city. if Buxton is a key pedestrian street, how do they describe streets that people actually walk on?

Hey Jason,
Just a quickie note – while we are very excited about our expansion, we added a bottling line not a canning line. No plans to can – just good ole fashion bottles.

Thank you for that! Correcting…
