Grit/Vegas Weekend Update for things to do in Asheville Oct. 20-23


Here’s a quick rundown of events and things to do in Asheville this weekend starting on Thursday, Oct. 20, and extending through the weekend. Check out the video for highlights, or the list below for more.

Here’s one easy thing to do: get outside. This weekend will be one of the peak weekends for viewing fall color in Western North Carolina. The weather will get cooler on Saturday, but it’s still going to be a great autumn weekend. Check out for suggestions on fall hikes and drives.

Thursday, Oct. 20

Early voting starts in Buncombe County. Get out and cast your ballots! Check here for early voting locations in Buncombe County.

Asheville Area Arts Council pint night at Highland Brewing. Starts at 4 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 21

MotoVicious, the motorcycle repair shop that features a little bar inside, is hosting an Octoberfest party. Starts at 6 p.m. A highlight: Foothills Brewing will be releasing its Oktoberfest Marzen.

Ice cream flights at The Hop Ice Creamery. Starts at 6 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 22

Improv at Trade & Lore Coffee Shop, featuring Blacklist and The Deep End. Starts 8 p.m.

Ragdolls and Scarecrows photobooth fun at Crow and Quill. Starts at 10 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 23

LEAF at Lake Eden in Black Mountain. The fall edition of this signature music event runs all weekend, but a Sunday pass will get you in to see a full day of music, including headliners the Squirrel Nut Zippers.
