For sale: Building on South Lexington in downtown Asheville, behind Orange Peel and Wicked Weed

Share

Downtown Asheville property is hot, and the South Slope section of downtown is the hottest. Here’s a new property that’s just been listed for sale for $1.95 million, and it’s a prime location – 100 S. Lexington Ave. – behind two of Asheville’s most popular destinations – The Orange Peel music club and the local craft brewer Wicked Weed Brewing.

Here’s more from the listing agent, Stephanie West:

The property located at 100 S Lexington Avenue, which is the building directly behind the Orange Peel and Wicked Weed. It’s currently the home of Car Quest but their lease is up at the end of the year.

There’s been a lot of activity on this property so far from potential developers. Fingers crossed it becomes an awesome addition to the South Slope! Would love to get some feedback on what the public would like to see at this location.

List price is $1,950,000. Two buildings on the property, 7,526 SF Car Quest building and another 2,600 SF storage/warehouse building. 0.64 acres total.

A pole- and belly-dance fitness center for women.

And on the other side of the two-way mirror, a brewery/pizza pub.

I don’t think i have a desire to see anything specific go in here. I just would love to make sure it fits certain categories: locally owned, responsible business that contributes to the culture and beauty of downtown, utilizes ethical resources for its daily operation…

Fingers crossed for an Outback Steakhouse or Red Lobster. Asheville would definitly support either one of those two in that location!!

I want a real dance hall, not a bar with a tiny space to sway but a place to dance. And I want it to have live bands and play a different sort of music every night, including a ballroom dance night (which includes swing and jive). It would need a floating wood floor. A real dance hall. Bliss.

So far, developers have not been excited about my idea of an all you can eat bacon factory.

Maybe a 3D sound chamber or a salt cave spa? Oh wait..what’s that? We already have those? ok…never mind. Yeah better make it a brewtique hotel.

How about a small brewery? Would be nice to be able to stop in for beer when migrating to Dirty Jacks from Wicked Weed.

I see a common space where mustache groomers, baristas, brewers, mixologists, taco and pizza aficianados discuss their importance to community.

But after those 5 minutes have passed, then what?

Z March 2, 2014 - 9:04 am

LOL!!! That was funny. Yeah, after those 5 minutes are up everyone stares at their smartphone for an hour.

Raze it, build a residential high-rise. The pizza/taco combo brewery venue and other trendy businesses on the ground floor.

Monkey February 28, 2014 - 12:12 pm

This would be a perfect spot for a pizza/taco combo brewery venue!
