Here’s the press release from loyal reader LeeAnn, regarding the Biltmore’s annual concert series. This is awesome news for the Asheville music scene:

Asheville, N.C. – A mix of Grammy-winning artists, “American Idol” favorites and contemporary Christian artists highlight Biltmore’s annual concert series, which grows from a summertime event to one stretching from June to October this year.

Grammy Award winners include Mary Chapin Carpenter and Kathy Mattea who return to Biltmore, and well-known artists Steve Miller Band and The Legendary Temptations. Clay Aiken, along with his fellow “American Idol” alum, Ruben Studdard, will share the stage for an evening on the South Terrace of Biltmore House.

In addition to the South Terrace, half of the performances will be held at Biltmore’s newest event venue, Diana at Biltmore, an intimate setting on the Vista overlooking Biltmore House.  Incomparable views of Biltmore House and the Blue Ridge Mountains from each site offer a perfect place to see a show under the stars.

All concerts start at 8 p.m.  Tickets will go on sale on Tuesday, April 6.  Call 866-336-1255 or visit www.biltmore.com.

Wow, Clay & Ruben together again! I will definitely be jumping all over that one as I’ve always said Season 2 of America Idol had the best Final 2 ever. Those guys were always so cute & funny together in interviews that summer after their season ended & you could tell they shared a genuine friendship (still so, apparently). Also, not inconsequently, the best 2 male voices to ever share the Idol stage. My whole family will be attending!

Aiken has the strangest, yet most rabid internet fanbase I’ve ever seen.

And before 2000 people jump on me, that’s a complement!

Seems to be a very weak line-up for the Biltmore Concert series this year. Seems as if the artists were selected to appeal to Florida snowbirds and the retired set. But then, those are the folks who visit Biltmore Estate.

I agree that the pic of Clay Aiken is terrible. At first I thought it was Chastity Bono.

Boy, after seeing that strange looking shot above….your readers will have a surprise in store when they see the real, live Clay Aiken! Clay has grown up and happens to be a VERY nice looking man……..although one would never know if left up to the biased media.

When is the world give him a break and stop the ugly games they are using to try to stifle his popularity. It is about d–n time!

Someone had to go to a lot of trouble to find this absurd looking picture of him……….the absolute worst picture I have seen and believe me I have seen the media print some real doozies before……which says a lot about whoever picked the photo to print here.

Shame on whoever selected that picture to print.
