Mama’s Fast Food restaurant, a neighborhood institution on Haywood Road in East West Asheville for the past 25 years, closed last week. In a notice posted on the door, Nancy Cunningham aka Mama, wrote that “there has been unforeseen things happening that I must go.” She added that the property was under contract to be sold. Cunningham also thanked her loyal customers.
