City of Asheville: New link on Reed Creek greenway open

Mayor Terry Bellamy and Asheville Olympic medalist Lauren Tamayo were among those gathered at the official opening of a new greenway connector this weekend.

The new Reed Creek greenway is near the Montford neighborhood, runs parallel to Broadway and crosses Cauble Street. According to the City of Asheville, it’s “a vital link in a continuing expansion that will give bordering neighborhoods greenway access to downtown Asheville.”

“Thank you to the City and to everyone involved,” Tamayo said in a City of Asheville blog post. “This is something Asheville can get behind and embrace.”

Hasn’t that section been open for quite a awhile now? I’ve been running on that section of the Reed Creek Greenway for months. Am I missing something?
