Check out the proposed Citizen-Times web site redesign

Here’s the link to the proposed redesign of the Citizen-Times web site, a redesign that’s overdue. Note the emphasis on interactivity – the blogs, the comments, reader-submitted photo galleries, social networking sites, etc.

The one glaring omission, to me, is a prominent display of video – a feature that newspapers have been stressing for a couple of years. Where is the video player?

Take a look at this beta site and see what you think. I’m sure the newspaper will welcome your feedback.

Let’s hope they figure out in the new design how to put local news in the local news section. Seems the last few weeks (probably longer) they’ve been populating the lead story section with a lot of "News of the Weird" type headlines that turn out to be from far away. Not saying there’s not a place for those stories, but the AC-T is never going to be the place to go for the stuff you can find on Google News; they need to focus on the local stuff as their bread and butter, and stop p!ssing off their site visitors with fake outs like "D.J. accused of sharing ‘how-to’ video about sexual abuse of children…"

Superfical changes in design and layout, and still slow as molasses…

It hardly looks different from the current design.
