Celebrity parade through Asheville continues: Lauryn Hill snowbound; Reggie Bush tackles the town; and give James Franco a hand

The celebrity hit parade through Asheville continues in 2011. I see that some Twitter folks are already spreading the hashtag #TMZavl. Nice.

Here’s what I’m catching up on:

Lauryn Hill rocked The Orange Peel with an awesome show Sunday night and early Monday morning before the big snowstorm hit. Then the snowstorm hit. Twitter peeps reported that the Hill entourage spent Monday stuck in Asheville, at the Renaissance Bohemian.

-Professional football player Reggie Bush was in Asheville recently, according to what SocialLifeAVL on Twitter was hearing. The New Orleans Saint won the Heisman trophy in 2005. Bush gave up the trophy in September of last year after an NCAA investigation found violations at the University of Southern California, where he starred in college.

-Movie star James Franco has been in and out of Asheville the past couple of years as he pursues his MFA at Warren Wilson College, and was spotted again last week. Franco has been super hot recently. He’s the star of 127 Hours, the movie version of the real-life tale of a mountain climber who had to amputate his own arm to get free of rocks. And on Feb. 27, Franco will co-host The Oscars with Anne Hathaway. Let’s give him a hand.

Bad one Ash. Bet you'd give your right arm just to meet him?

Franco plays Allen Ginsburg in HOWL, which came out last week. If it weren't for 127 HOURS, I think he would have gotten nominated for this one.

That's interesting about James Franco. He was featured in an article in Outside Magazine a few months ago where it mentioned he was taking graduate level courses at Columbia, NYU and Yale….no mention of WWC.
