Catawba Valley Brewing plans to officially announce its plans at an Asheville Beer Week dinner on Sunday. The beer dinner is at FIG, a great Biltmore Village restaurant. Co-hinky-dink? I think not.
Catawba Valley has been looking for a location in Asheville for more than a year. Good luck to them!
Asheville’s beer scene continues to hop with new additions. Hi-Wire Brewing plans to be open soon, while Burial Beer Co. and Twin Leaf Brewery are both planning to open on the South Slope. Oyster House, which moved out of the Lobster Trap restaurant in downtown, will be open in a few weeks on Haywood Road in West Asheville. And the biggies are still coming. Sierra Nevada is planning to open later this year in Mills River, and New Belgium Brewing is scheduled to open in 2015.
