Carson Kressley, the fashion guy on the former Queer Eye for the Straight Guy cable TV hit in the early 2000s, will visit Asheville for an Asheville Outlets grand opening event next month.

Asheville Outlets, the new open-air mall at the former Biltmore Square Mall location on Brevard Road, is set to open May 1. It will feature 75 outlet stores, from Nike and Brooks Brothers to Dress Barn, Forever 21, J Crew Factory, Banana Republic and more.

Asheville Outlets will celebrate with a weekend of events around its grand opening, including a fashion show hosted by Kressley on May 2. Other events include an April 30th charity night preview, a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 1 and a kid’s day on May 3. The weekend opening will also feature local musicians.

Kressley danced on Season 13 of Dancing With the Stars a couple of years ago, and is currently a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race.
