The deadline for this year’s awards has been extended to Wednesday. Organizers tell me this year’s Feb. 16 awards ceremony promises to be bigger and better than ever, with a ballroom at the U.S. Cellular Center secured for the party. Here you go:
The American Advertising Federation Asheville (AAFA) has announced its call for entries for the 2016-2017 American Advertising Awards. The group is looking for the best advertising and marketing work of 2016 from western North Carolina. Winners have an opportunity to showcase their work on a local level while also moving on to compete at the district level and in the national awards.
“What we love about our local community of creative professionals is that even though we are a small community, we are a powerful one, filled with a lot of talent.” AAFA Co-President Aimie Burns said. Laura Gaines, the organization’s other Co-President, commented on what the awards can mean to a local marketing company. “What that really says is Hey, Asheville, Creativity lives here. And works here too! If your brand needs an upgrade, check out all of these award winning companies who are ready to work with you!”
Gold Award Winning entries will automatically be entered in the regional awards round and winners from the regional competition will go on to compete in the national awards. More information on how to enter the competition can be found online here.
Local round winners will be announced at the Awards Gala, sponsored by Signarama and Milepost355, to be held on February 16, 2017.
Awards are an important part of the advertising industry and a way for agencies and even freelancers to show potential clients that their work meets the highest standards. The American Advertising Awards, formerly known as the ADDYs, is among the most prestigious awards programs in the industry. In addition to opportunities for professional entries in a wide variety of categories, a student competition at a reduced entry price is open to college students.
