I’ve been on a short blog break. I’ve been filling my time with watching that American rip-off of the Japanese gameshow “The Hole,” or whatever it is. I’ve been working too hard and drinking too much beer.
I’ve been trying to get that “Chicken Fried” song they play over and over on KISS FM out of my head. (I love it.) And I’ve also been trying to get the Republican mantra “Drill, baby, drill” to stop repeating in my brain. (I hate it.)
I’ve been wondering why the Asheville animal activists aren’t protesting the basketball-playing bears at the Mountain State Fair. Has anyone seen them? I want to go just for them. I’m wondering what other political protests we’ll see in Asheville over the next 57 days.
I need to write updates here about all the blog voting that’s happening — the Mountain Xpress Best Of voting, and the BlogAsheville voting. But I don’t feel like messing with it just yet.
I have to decide whether to run the Citizen-Times 5K. I want to know when the Avetts will announce their Orange Peel shows. So much going on, I don’t know where to turn.
And I’m getting old.

Hello! welcome back. I have been getting ready for a 100k bike ride, riding the 100k bike ride and now getting ready for my first 5k race ever. I wouldn’t call what I do running, it’s more like jumpy uppy downy walking.

I can’t believe the POTUS race is now neck and neck….I thought us Dems would finally have an easy time at winning. I just hope Obama starts to hit back and hit back hard and where it hurts so he doesn’t get run over like Kerry and Gore.
I will be running said 5K, my first. (Running could be overstating it.) So yeah, you should do it because all the other kids are.
Since you asked, Mad Tea Party is on a short break from touring. With my down time, I’ve been writing songs, playing music with my girlfriends, blogging a bit, and preparing to gear back up for our fall shows, including our 5 Year Anniversary blowout at the Grey Eagle on Saturday Oct. 4th.
Oh, and I sending all kinds of positive vibes out there for Obama to be elected.
