There are some cool new Asheville Web sites and blogs that I’ve been negligent in mentioning. So negligent, in fact, that some aren’t so new. Regardless – there’s always something interesting happening on the scene. To wit:
Media watcher: There’s a new local media watchdog out there penning a blog called www.randomasheville.blogspot.com. The anonymous blogger, who goes by the pen name Quill Newman, has been gently picking apart Asheville Citizen-Times news stories. The criticism is light, and the writer offers up a lot of open questions. But the writer clearly knows reporting, and newspaper buzzwords. And the blogger likes to leave lots of links here at Ashvegas to drive traffic over to his or her site. Quill Newman, who are you and what are your intentions?
River Arts District blog: The River Arts District Blog is getting a facelift. Watch for news and new posts beginning Feb. 1. This is good news because I’ve got a prediction for you: over the next 10 years, Asheville’s river district is going to blossom with development action.
The truth is I do care about making multimedia and maybe I care moreso about other people’s stuff – but I’ve been in a bit of a slump. I’ve been more into the lo-fi lifestyle of reading, walking around, wanting to sew and writing things I am almost certain no one else would want to run their eyes over even if the only other alternative were glass. Broken glass.
As for this “life slump,” you will know when I am out of it because I’ll begin to post some stuff up that doesn’t include: making fun of people and/or videos of my dog. Those are all I have right now.
I haven’t seen any new dog videos yet, but I think Finan is coming out her funk. Check out her nice work at the newspaper, and give her web site a look.

I hope http://www.avldrinks.com can do a bit on the Sazerac. Very slick video. Cheers!
This is a great article. Thanks for the updates.
