Asheville Pizza Showdown: The winners

Last weekend’s pizza showdown invited people to support great locally made pizza as a team of celebrity judges decided which pizza would reign. The event benefited Consider Haiti, the former MANNA Food Bank.

From the Asheville Foodie blog, some new pizza joints for all of us to check out:

1st Place: Pomodoros Cafe – East and South Asheville
2nd Place: Frank’s Roman Pizza – East and West Asheville
3rd Pace: Woody’s Pizza – East Asheville

Specialty Pizza
1st Place: Favilla’s Pizza – West Asheville
2nd Place: Strada Italiano – Downtown Asheville
3rd Pace: The Pizza Shop – Spruce Pine NC

People’s Choice
1st Place: Rolling Stone Pizza – Black Mountain NC
2nd Place: Woody’s Pizza – East Asheville
3rd Place: Vinnie’s Italian – North Asheville

What does that mean — Consider Haiti, the former MANNA Food Bank? Isn’t manna local not international? Did they change their name or focus? This doesnt seem right

Sorry Question, Manna Food Bank retains its name, it’s Mission MANNA that’s now Consider Haiti. I’ve fixed my error.
